Treasures in the Attic, Vol. 1

Over spring break I started wondering what gems the established members of DA have hiding at the very bottom of their galleries. They might be sparks of inspiration, or maybe serendipitous events while we were learning. Even those members who came to DA as already established fractalists rarely blaze onto the scene. It takes time to build a list of watchers and become familiar with the various clubs. Perhaps treasures in the basement would be more apropos. I spent some time delving into the depths of several of my friend’s galleries for deviations with less than ten favorites that I liked and thought deserved a second look. (Roz and Thelma had so many that I had a great deal of trouble choosing.)

I hope this inspires others to go looking for “lost” art treasures. :XD:

I have three more weeks, but some of my classes are labs and they are over next week (Yaay). Unfortunately, I only have four whole days off and then I start the first summer session. We have to teach one of the two summer sessions. I also work some of the second session, but I won't be teaching (thank heavens). It's been a hard semester. Many of the younger students just don't want to put any work into studying.

Mine are dropping like flies, they come into class thinking they can breeze through because it's Interpersonal Communication and after all don't they already know how to talk? Ha, fooled them. I give really hard exams. Lost 5 after the last exam and the nextone is next week. Last day to drop is coming soon. NOW they want extra credit...I always laugh (not nice but it's better than saying what I really think).

Sorry you have to work summer, we can if we want to but not a requirement. The summer pay is the same as a regular class, so the money is attractive but I want the time off!

I am trying to get a reputation that my class in NOT an easy grade. It's hard to get that rep in our school. I am through being the "easy" "blow off the work" class.

Aww, Cyd, don't you know that we never catch up here?! I didn't sign on last night, busy at work, with all of the storms and tornadoes, and came back today to a huge amount of deviations and messages. Oh well, fave and run, read what you can, and answer those that need to be answered. I think that's all we can do! And my watch list just keeps growing too! I find so many talented people here, and I've also gotten interested in other areas of art, so..... :giggle: Take care dear and just do what you can! :hug: :iconfurrydanceplz:

I'm known as hard but fair. I demand a lot from them, but I give them as much help as I can. I make them work because most of my students are going into the medical field. I feel not just an obligation to them, because I know how hard the tests are to get into the different programs, but also to the public to make sure that they are getting the best trained service as possible. There is no room in medicine for the careless.

Do you find that some of them have the false notion that community college is easier? I tell them it's cheaper, and easier to get into, but it's still college. Where I teach is considered to be the best CC in Florida, and we mean to keep it that way. :)
